Well, we're through Week 13 now, and here's one take on what things 2025 has offered thus far:
MOST DISAPPOINTING
1-Penn State AD Pat Kraft allowing the inmates to run the asylum.
2-Ohio State being so ungodly boring while solidifying its place atop the sport.
3-The cold, hard reality Oregon remains the standard of what so many consider "great" in the uniform department no matter what wretched-looking crap it puts out there week after week.
4-The Louisiana governor's heavy "involvement" in the firings of both LSU's head coach and the athletic director who hired him.
5-No Group of Five school rising above all others to have fans across the country wondering, "could it really challenge for a national title?"
MOST UPLIFTING
1-James Franklin receiving his pricey "get out of jail" card by Penn State.
2-The spotlight finding Indiana QB Francisco Mendoza.
3-Pitt finally emerging as a player in the ACC hierarchy.
4-BYU being firmly back in the national picture.
5-UConn QB Joe Fagnano in his seventh college season: 3,400 passing yards, 28 TDs, 1 INT, 9-3 record.
MOST EXPECTED
1-The freefall of Penn State, Clemson, South Carolina, and to a lesser degree Texas, LSU and Illinois after all their preseason hype based on wildly overrated QBs at each school.
2-The over-the-top proclamations for Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love to get the Heisman not based on production but, rather, promotion of what he could do.
3-The pod-like immediate genuflecting at the mere mention of Lane Kiffin.
4-Penn State fans having absolutely no grasp of reality about where their favorite football program ranks in the minds of coaches they believe are dying to lead it.
5-Penn State fans continuing to try to bury Franklin even though he's alive, well, moved on to Virginia Tech ... and taking Nittany Lions staff and recruits with him.
