Saint Joe's Billy Lange leaves Hawk Hill for Knicks assistant gig ...
Seems like an odd move, considering he just got the ball rolling at Saint Joe's with 21 and 22 wins, respectively, in his last two seasons with the Hawks AND that he's already done the NBA assistant coach deal.
What is NOT odd is the "Classic Philly" response to his HC replacement on Hawk Hill -- Steve Donahue, a proven example of mediocre (or less) personified. But ol' Steve has the silly and childish "he's a Philly guy" rubber stamp of approval, so he's hailed as a great choice and a very good coach by Philly media and fans
Since when? It was a decade and a half ago when he closed out a brilliant three-year run at Cornell and since then he has crapped out at both Boston College and Penn, where a combined 19-37 the last two seasons solidified his spot as a career below-.500 HC.
Philly, can we stop with the ignore-reality blind loyalism? It's ridiculous.
